Hey Dear Reader! Today I will share with you my overall experience as a Digital Nomad in Florianopolis.

Things you should know before coming to Florianopolis as a Digital Nomad

Florianopolis is a big Island, with astounding beaches and landscapes. Wherever you go, for sure you will encounter a breath-taking place. But because it’s a big Island it’s hard to explore all of it unless you rent a car or stay for at least 7 days (I guess) and 7 days if you aren’t working. In my case I came to Floripa as a Digital Nomad, to work and travel. For this reason it was hard for me to see it all because during the week I was working full time from 10:00 AM till 8:00 PM Brazilian Time ( 8-6 Colombian time) and on the weekends I tried to see as much as I could, but it was difficult to cover it all, since Floripa is big. For the reason above I chose to stay at three different areas/hostels during my stay in Floripa, in order to enjoy each area while I was working.

FIRST WEEK: BARRA DO LAGOA

During my first week in Floripa I stayed in the area of Barra do Lagoa (Yellow pin) at the Search Hostel, Great hostel for getting your job done, socializing and having a good rest.

During my stay at Barra do Lagoa I explored the following places:

To get here is very easy, it is only a short walk of approx. 15 minutes to the start of the easy trail to get to the natural pools of Barra Do Lagoa.

If you are staying at the Search House Hostel and you want to visit this place, simply ask where the Blue Bridge is, go in that direction cross the Blue Bridge, open Google Maps, follow its directions or read the wooden signs that lead the way, or simply ask somebody around and they will show you how to get to the start of the trail. I used Google Maps from the hostel to the trail and around there, I also asked and make sure I was on the right track.

I did this trail alone and it was completely safe, easy and beautiful. You can also jump into the water at the natural pools when the tide is low and enjoy a wonderful swim and view. **During the weekends it gets very crowded.
