Here are my top tips to prepare for your arrival in Thailand:
- Download GRAB – it’s the equivalent of Uber in Thailand.
- If you’re coming from any of the countries on this list, make sure you have your yellow fever vaccine.
- Thailand is incredibly organized, with excellent transportation options: metro, buses, taxis, Grab, motorbikes, and more! You can travel across the whole country by bus. Don’t forget to use: 12Go Asia; it’s perfect for booking buses, boats, and trips throughout Thailand and beyond.—The Service is 5 stars.
- If you’re heading to Bangkok, consider staying near Sukhumvit Road or Sukhumvit Area, close to MBK and/or Siam Paragon. These two are great malls, both located near Bangkok’s main transportation systems, such as the BTS and the MRT. It’s a great area with plenty of shopping. I didn’t stay there, my budget was not that large but I loved the hostel where I spent my time: Siamaze Hostel.
- Check the weather before you go! The seasons are: the rainy season (May to October), the cool season (November to February), and the hot season (March to May). Try to avoid travelling during the rainy season if you can.
- No need to speak Thai! Make Google Maps your best friend and enjoy your adventure. You will always find someone who speaks English along the way or who will understand and besides everything is well labelled with Thai and translation to English.Thailand is a well-prepared country for mas tourism, so you do not have to worry about anything!
